We organized the workshop on Nonlinear Optics and Complexity as the XIV course of the School on Complexity of the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Center for Scientific Culture in the wonderful and historic town Erice in Sicily (IT) in the period 8-13 November 2011. The emphasis of the meeting was on Photonic Crystal Fibers and Nanostructures, and it was directed by Claudio Conti, Fabio Biancalana, Philip St.J. Russell, Eugenio DelRe and Nicolas Joly. Within the program of the International School on Complexity of the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre For Scientific Culture we organized the XII Course with title Complex Phenomena in Nonlinear Physics October 3-7, 2009 that resulted in an exciting interdisciplinary event involving many outstanding scientists and motivated students. In collaboration with J. Nathan Kutz, Gabriel Lord and others, we organized the 2008 edition of the SIAM Conference on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures Dep. of Physics, University Sapienza of Rome, June 21-24 Rome that involved about 400 hundreds researcher world-wide and was anticipated by the workshop Multidimensional Localized Structures Related article in this website.
